How it feels to eat a Balut for the first time

Yes, long title for a random post before the year 2010 ends.

So how have you guys been doing? Two more days, oh no, say a day and few more hours to go and it's officially 2011! I'm not gonna talk about year 2010 and how is sure rocked my socks but as what my title says, for now, I will be blogging about how it feels to eat a Balut for the first time.

What on earth is a balut? Wikipedia says its

a fertilized duck (or chicken) egg with a nearly-developed embryo inside that is boiled and eaten in the shell. Popularly believed to be an aphrodisiac and considered a high-protein, hearty snack, balut are mostly sold by street vendors in the regions where they are available. The Filipino and Malay word balut (balot) means "wrapped" – depending on pronunciation.

I'm not gonna make this post melodramatic because of the poor chicken-ling not being able to see the world for he or she is now inside my system (and probably has broken down in to small pieces all thanks to those awesome enzymes of mine). No, apparently am not. Sorry. =)

So, Few days ago, it was December 27 and our family went to random places to spend the night with. Okay, ignore my grammar. Anyways, yeah. After we crept the hell out of the people we went home because we kind of took over the world and ate the Balut we bought from Fuente Osmeña.

First thing I did was to "bang" the poor shell at the wall in the first pic. "Bang" for me translates to the way you push or shove something to the wall hard enough you'll hear a plop sound. Yez, I fail at words. It's like crushing something whateves. Seeing those cute stupid little cracks, I slowly but surely peeled them off until it looked like that picture above. See what's inside?

I tried my best to gulp it in one shot. And I did. WHAAAAAT?

I heard somewhere the liquid thing inside is nutritious (or so I thought. Who knows it could've been the poor chicken-ling's piss. OMG I AM GONNA DIE FFFFFFFFFF) loljoke. I think it's the egg whites. Buahahaha -face palm-

Lo and behold. This is how the balut looks like, fresh from the shell. The yellow thingy is the brain of the poor chicken-ling lolwtf egg yolk while the purplish one that stood out is the real chick. RIP.

This is last pic before I finally stuff inside my mouth ate the balut. It was chewy yes. And I kept thinking that I was just eating some pork or fried chicken because it was crunchy even if it was boiled. xD And well, it made me feel like a Filipino now. I'm glad I am finally able to eat balut in my 18th year in planet earth. And it was in the year 2010. ^^

Will I still eat one after this? Why not? If I remember it correctly, the balut is still few weeks old. So I was able to munch it down. But if the chick was a little more older, say its beak is fully grown, I'd probably think twice. xD Seeing the chick's leg was enough. I don't think I can handle beaks anymore. =)) And if you feel like eating one, it's good to eat it on the streets. Balut goes well with salt and vinegar. There's one called Balut Penoy/Pinoy too. I recommend this to those who has a fragile stomach. It's just boiled egg and the chick's still undeveloped. No embryos. ^^

ZAMMOJJ Re-union during Mia's Birthday

Best picture ever. =) Taken last 11-28-10 during Mia's birthday! We had so much fun this day. We ate together after a very long time. We spazzed. We even mocked at each other's faces and laughed our hearts and asses out! AHAHAHAHA! Mike came late because he realized he misses us so much the last minute. It was cool though that he was still able to come even if he was REALLY LATE. ♥ But but we all had fun and it's all that matters. ILYSFMG. ♥

4 Years and Counting ♥

Last October 16th, me and my gang ZAMMOJJ celebrated our 4th year anniversary. I know it's been almost 2 months ago but I just had to a blog post for this. It's been 4 years and we're still together, going strong and keeping the faith to each other. =) Anways, for those who doesn't know, ZAMMOJJ stands for Zarah, Ana, Mia, Mike, Ofelia, Jesu and Jessica. I don't wanna start how we all got along together because it was and will be a very long story. =P

But for the benefit of those who wanted to know, we really didn't start as good friends. Truefax. It was Zarah and Opel. They started being friends since First Year high school. They've been classmates since Elementary and they're neighbors too! Cool ain't it? Then there came Ana. She was the center of attention because of her curly andnottomentionsexywtf hair. Haha!

Things were going pretty well. But things aren't as good as how they were.

And it was all because of me. I was evil. I killed the three of them by my bare hands. And I swear, it was such a commotion I got suspended. But these are all nothing but a joke. MUAHAHAHAHAH! I know that was lame. Let's just say, we had our differences that time. And you know, freshman year in high school is really really, something. It was, after all our pubescent stage. So, don't expect us understanding each other's differences and stuff. Because that didn't happen. After those things that happened, we realized we're better individuals now and that Zarah, Opel and Ana were nice people so Jesu and I befriended them. Or was it? HAHAHAHAH! Then Mike came to us and thought of joining the gang because we are full of win, he got jealous. XD And after say, a year maybe, Mia joined us too.

In the gang, I have been friends with Jesu, Mike and Mia since elementary. Oh the good old days. So, we clicked like that. Ana was a total loner so, ahahahahaahah just kidding. =))

Looking back, I realized I've had many friends. And I considered them my best friends. But where did they go? HAHAHAH! They left. I understand why. Probably we aren't just fit to be the best of friends unlike how me and my gang, ZAMMOJ rock your world. Have I told you our mission in life is to take over the world with our charms. AHAHAHAHAHAHA! In all honesty, I'm really happy I found these bunch of crazy people. And I really miss those high school days of ours when we eat together during Recess and Lunch Break. And all those laughs, bickering, backstabbing (lol) and all that crap we do. *cries* lolwtf. I just want you guys to know that I love you all. And I may not show it that often, I really do love you. Ikyangie sucks at showing her affection so boo me okay? I just do it in my own way and I know you know that. ILYSFM. ♥

RANDOM BUT VERY VERY RELEVANT ♥

this is random but the slogan says "Always First, Always Ready, Always There". I wanna add, "Always Keep the Faith!" xD anyways, I donated almost 3 months ago so I can donate again for the [O! Project: Red Ocean] and I'm eggsited. Fangirling it ain't about spazzing but for charity too!

Processing Pertinent Papers Part 1

while processing the pertinent papers, lol. i swear, i hate the fingerprinting portion. and seriously, my fingertips don’t look like how they are in the print. xD twas fun though. made me feel i’m a young adult now. xD

one sunday afternoon

Today was a very tiring day. No kidding. Spent the whole dayafternoon on a shopping spree aka looking for materials to be used on Auntie and her group's Christmas presentation this December 15th, WALKING. Yes, walking. We looked for tambourines, bells, Santa hats and random cloth and others from one store to another, walking because some stores in our place have this connecting exits whachamacallit (short cuts, eh) so there, it somewhat made our rendezvous easier just a tad bit.

It was fun though really.

The best part was when we saw these:

I must have been living like a hermit crab. Sparkling magazine's November 2010 issue is already out, I had just known. (grammar pls?)

Yes, I bought it immediately. For 150php, who wouldn't?

After paying at the Cashier, Auntie and I went to the supermarket and bought groceries. Ah! I really enjoy buying food. There's so much to choose from it's driving me insane. Honestly. Now I know why Kim Jaejoong, who won as the HOTTEST MALE IDOL 2010 in the recent 2nd Philippine Kpop Awards at the 2nd Philippine Kpop Convention, wants to own supermarket. Lookat the pics below:

and YAY for Asian pride. xD I think, by far, this is the only supermarket who sells Asian food in our place. The other branch sells some but not as many as this supermarket does.

Soju. ♥ they also sell the drinking beverage TaeYang of BigBang endorsed. Forgot the name. haha. Tasted it too, and it was, errr, okay. Tastes like liquid. XD

There's Chinese, Japanese, Thai, Indian, Indonesian among many others. =)

After I spazzed at the Asian Food Section, we paid for the food we bought and then we went home.

It's been a while. =)

just wanted to share this dorky gif of Jae expressing his happiness on his first time to New York. And just like him, I have also been busy with stuff. Went to the capital, Manila, few weeks ago for a concert. Also got the chance to meet my Auntie's idols. lol. Well, she says they're not really idols. More of like, the artists whom she support ( as how she would put it). I had great time really. And was finally able to board an airplane. took me 18 years, lol.

Today, since it's a Saturday, i'll just spent the day online. Still not feeling well. I had cough since last week but it has gotten better now, I think. Drank meds and plenty of water too that's why I keep going to the toilet. XD but it's better though than not doing anything to cure my cough. Why am sickly in cold weather? Ah.
