Cagayan de Oro City: the City of Golden Friendship - Part 1

Long title for an amazing flawless perfect late blog post full of pictures!

A month ago, our class had a 3 days 3 nights exposure tour at Cagayan de Oro City (CDO) still here in the Philippines! The city is famous for it's rapids also know as the white-water rafting. It also boasts of Asia's Longest Dual Zipline. ^^

Departure : Day 00

From our original destination which is Cebu, we departed on October 8th at 8PM, we went on for a 9 hour boat (or ship not as big as a cruise ship) journey down south of the Philippines. Some of our classmates spent the entire time sleeping, some played cards, shared scary stories like a possible ship wreck (because it reported on the news that a storm was coming on it's way to the Philippine seas) while some, like me stayed awake the entire trip because of an upset stomach (and headache, and sore throat and almuran- just kidding.. I only had a slight headache due to the swaying of the boat).

Or so I thought. Pic taken around 12MN. The last time I boarded a ship/boat was May 2010 when we visited step father's family.

*3 hours earlier*

Classmates took candid pics and obligatory pose-pics of yours truly. I'm quite amazed it turn out not
that...bad.

Arrival: Day 01 Tired, Hungry, Headache

I was able to sleep around 2:00 AM, just 2 and a half hours away from our arrival at the CDO. I slept anyway. Well I didn't. I only lay in my economy class double deck with my eyes closed. Such a hard time. When it was finally time to get up and get washed, I was still in bed dreaming. After a good thirty minutes in lala land I finally stood up, made my side of the double deck and finally prepared my self and stuff for our arrival. ;D It was still dawn and cold. Ah~ the smell of the pier.

JYJ went to CDO~ woot woot ^____^;;v

After 30 minutes, we were then transported to our hotel on a van (because we were told tour buses don't exist in CDO). A day before our departure, our Coordinator called for a meeting to inform us of some changes. The hotel we will be staying at will not have a swimming pool, we will go on tour on a van and that rooms will be on a quin-sharing system. All girls, all boys. Okay, cool stuff.

This was where we stayed at. Neat. Not so flashy on the outside nor inside.
The hotel offered free wifi which made me really very happy.

Upon arrival at the hotel, we checked-in our luggages first since standard check-in time is at 2:00 PM. Then we proceeded to the much awaited event of the first day: breakfast.

Brew Berry Cafe. Nice restaurant. Good food.

We had buffet for breakfast. Tourism students, ah~ they say most of them watch what they eat to keep their slender bodies and all that stuff. Well, I personally don't adhere to such strict rule or practice lol. And c'mon! We're on tour. I need energy to make up for my sleepless night hahahhhaha

Rice, omelette, pancakes, slices of Papaya, corned beef and a glass of orange juice. ~

Big appetite is big. The restaurant, Brew Berry Cafe offers breakfast (upon request), lunch and dinner. Delicious breakfast on first day. I thought I should get a good rest already but no. After the heavy meal, lol, we went out to look around the small city. We didn't really had that much time since we then prepared ourselves for the next itinerary: White-water rafting. But I was able to snap a pic that I found interesting:

Their street names. Most of it are named after prominent people. You can actually see similar posts but with different street name, named after a person.

White Water Rafting will be posted soon ;) Sorry to keep you waiting. It's 4:15 AM now and boy, I really don't know why but it seems my brain cells function in ungodly hours. Oh gawd, better fix this. Adios!
