The Manila Experience : Spazzing with Reych and Angie

Late blogpost is late. I just had a random checking of my blog posts and saw this draft. Mianhae. This is just a snippet of my post so I'll do my best ^^;;v

Ahh. So last Saturday (pretend I posted this on November 17, 2010 Wednesday--the day I arrived from the trip haha. We departed for Manila on Nov. 14th) I tweeted I will be flying to the capital city, Manila. I swear, it was helluva fun! The experience was overwhelming. Yours truly was about to cry in all honesty and good thing, I was able to hold back the tears. *cue DBSK song* xD

The whole trip was a first for me. First time boarding a plane, first time flying on a plane, first time in NAIA, first time in Manila, first time breathing the same air as those living in the capital. The list will go on but I will do it another post hehe. Since Tita didn't really have a concrete itinerary for the whole trip, I asked her if I could meet someone and she said, why not? After some tweets and SMS, Reych and I finally met each other at SM Mall of Asia. Which reminds me, I forgot to take a pic of the osm globe thingy. AHAHAHA! An obligatory photoshoot.

The initial meeting was really awkward all because of my Tita. While we were dining at McDonalds' she joked she'll snap a pic of the person I'm supposed to meet. I kid you not. She said she will use it as proof in case I get lost or sth. Jeez. Reych was really accommodating. ♥

I bade goodbye to Tita and started spazzing with Reych since I was wearing my TVXQ Flashmob shirt. ♥ The day before (or was it few hours prior to our meet-up?) I asked Reych if there were many Cassies studying at UST because I will be wearing my shirt proudly. Honestly, I didn't have spare clothes anymore. I only knew we're gonna watch Jovit Baldivino's concert the moment we landed at NAIA that's why I brought very few stuff. But I already envisioned myself walking in the streets or in any of the malls in Manila with my TVXQ Flashmob shirt so~ ;P

We rode on an FX cab. =) Spent the whole ride from MOA to the University of Sto. Tomas (the university is older than Harvard since they'll celebrating celebrated their 400th year on 2011) sharing stories of our lives and etc. I hope I did not dominate the whole conversation. =)) We also spazzed, more like panicked about Park Yucheon who, tweeted "What if I stop tweeting/using Twitter". And then Kim Jaejung replied he'll stop using Twitter too. Both of us went "WTF, PARK. NOOOOOOOOOOOO ADSSFDSGDHJ." but I was just kidding. xD So called issue was settled in a matter of moments by Jaejoong. Ah~

Wow. I mean, I totally forgot where was I. No pics by me inside the university because I was left speechless. Did I mention I was shaking? No crying happened so, no worries. It was such a fail I forgot to take a single pic. FML. Reych was telling me stories about the university but I don't think my brain grasped any of it. I was simply awed. Beautiful beautiful university.

We then went to Santorini. Met with Angie and ate Korean food! ♥

It was also my first time dining in a Korean resto with pictures of Kpop idols plastered all over the walls. Not my first time to eat Korean food. But the whole experience is really different, surreal and everything that's happy. Just look at the pics.

One of the highlight during our Manila trip was meeting my fellow DBSK fangirls who I only knew online. Meeting them in real life didn't feel it's a first time because we've been chatting online and all. Hoping to meet Reych and Angie again soon! Hopefully with Nice this time around. Always Keep the  Faith! ♥

G$ Foodtrip: Siomai sa Tisa

Last January 26, 2012 was Jaejoong's Birthday. It was on the same day when our school celebrated the College of Arts and Sciences Day (CAS Day). Uncooperative as we are Me, Carlo, Aizzel and Jene Rose went out to eat at Siomai sa Tisa instead of participating in the half day event held at school. ;D

Along with Suzanne who did not really have patience we're supposed to go there all 5 of us and went back to Bogo (she stays in a dorm/apartment near our school since Bogo is like away from the civilization loljk. Bogo is situated North of the island, Cebu and will take 4 hours of trip) we actually form a group called Gorgeous Dollars. I even blogged about it one time. Anyway, we were simply thinking about what to eat during our lunch break. Then Aizzel said she wanted to eat barbecue but there aren't that much barbecue stalls with in the vicinity to so we resorted to buying whatever food was served at the cafeteria. Then I said I wanted to eat Siomai sa Tisa. The rest, they say is history.

But since this is my blog, I will continue ahaha~ :P

So yeah, after that lunch break we thought of immortalizing the longing to eat good food so decided on having a food trip. It was a sunny Thursday afternoon when we went to Tisa, Labangon where Siomai sa Tisa stalls are located. It's like street food literally because you eat on the street with tables and chairs. Street dining. Siomai sa Tisa popular here in Cebu. I don't know but whenever there's a Carenderia which sells Siomai, they always put/add/label it with "Siomai sa Tisa" to attract more customers. Only half of the sellers are telling the truth though. Tch. We once lived in Labangon so I kinda lead them to the place and viola! Here is the Siomai sa Tisa.

The original, Siomai sa Tisa.

I think the charm of Siomai sa Tisa is it's reasonable price. Only for Php6.00/piece you can already taste heaven! loljk that sounded weird. Cebu is also home to most of the Chinese people here in the Philippines. Personally, I like how the fusion of Chinese cuisine and the Bisaya/Filipino cuisine is present in Siomai sa Tisa. Like, usually you eat siomai by the use of chopsticks. But here, we use your hands. It's called kinamot in Bisaya from the word kamot while it's nagkakamay  in Tagalog from word kamay which all mean hands.

Attaaaaaaaaack! ;D

As you can in the picture, we all were eager to dig in and taste heaven hahahaha! You can also see the puso or hanging rice. It's simply rice inside banana leaves shaped like a diamond. One of best features here in Cebu. ♥ There's the lime, the soy sauce/ fish sauce and the spicy flavoring. That's my hand the one holding the plastic, to left is Carlo's, to right is Aizzel's and opposite to me is Jene Rose's hand. Because we use our hands in eating, we use small plastic cellophane to cover our hands, using it as a glove. Eating with your bear hands will let you savour the food more but it's better if you do it in your own home. ;-)

Obligatory pictures of our fugly faces:

Carlo

As seen on the pics, we're REALLY on the street hahaha. We were not able to take a photo of us with the overview of the place because it's still early like 4 in the afternoon and the jeepneys and other vehicles are on the street so meh.

The aftermath ;D

We had 3 pieces of Siomai and 2 pieces of puso with an additional so that makes it 3 pieces of puso for me, Jene Rose and Aizzel. Carlo since he's a boy lolz, he ate more than us he got 4 pieces of Siomai and puso. We paid a total of Php37.00 for the Siomai, puso and softdrink/soda all in all except for Carlo who paid Php46.00

Endorser. Enuf said haha

Siomai sa Tisa Food Trip! ♥

Why should people try eating in Siomai sa Tisa?
because it's popular, delicious and affordable! In the Philippines, spending quality time with family and friends means eating or dining with them. ♥

Where is Siomai sa Tisa located?
It's in Tisa, Labangon. You can ride on any jeepney with Labangon route (12L, 12B, 12C, 12I, 12M, etc.) as long as it's via Katipunan. Minimum fare applies. ^^

P.S. This is not a review nor advertorial. This is a blogpost. Teehees.
