Korean Class: Hanbok Making Activity

Because my friend Carlo updated his blog, I feel obliged to do the same lol. On Feb 13th of 2012, we had a very fun class activity in our Korean Class. We made Hanbok.  Pic overload.
Hanbok (South Korea) or Chosŏn-ot (North Korea) is the traditional Korean dress. It is often characterized by vibrant colors and simple lines without pockets. Although the term literally means "Korean clothing", hanbok today often refers specifically to hanbok of Joseon Dynasty and is worn as semi-formal or formal wear during traditional festivals and celebrations. The modern hanbok does not exactly follow the actual style as worn in Joseon dynasty since it went through some major changes during the 20th century for practical reasons. Wikipedia.

And that is SNSD in the upper left.

Dee seonsaengnim told us to bring different colors of Japanese Paper for our Hanbok making activity. It was fun because as a fan of TVXQ! of course, I was also exposed to the Korean culture in some way. However, I do not really know that much about Hanboks. Although it wasn't discussed how to make a hanbok properly, we tried to do our best to make a replica of the picture that was given to us. :D

We started to cut the Japanese papers to a length appropriate for the "skirt".

Theresa was in charge of the scotch tape (or the tape, however you call that in English)

Because of the limited resources that we have, lol, we had a half-baked Hanbok (quoting Carlo for this haha!) for our model. We started making the skirt then the upper garment.

Our model was Shiela, assisted by Myra and Lady Lee.

Look at those tapes taped in her uniform. :) We had to put many of it to secure the material from falling off.

Our hardworking stylist unnies, lol, doing the sleeves. =)

So serious! Btw, if you're looking for me I'm the photographer.
 I did the documentation. Haha~

I also did Shiela's hairstyle. Photographer/Stylist unnie too~

Honestly, I am not very good of a hair stylist lol. I simply combed her hair
and tied it in a semi ponytail with Theresa lending a helping hand.

The other groups were busy as well. Louvee as their model.

Make-up~

Suzanne was the representative in the other group. G$ represent! ♥

Meshiel and her PAs. =)) Osm job done in there with their design and all.

They even have petal/snowflake like details! What is ozm?

Glazalle as the model. ^^

Before I reveal our finished products lol, here are the criteria for judging.

Tadda~

Our model~ kyahhhhh so prettyy right? For a moment there I thought she was a real Korean princess. Char-char lang gud. lol. Love your own. =)) But really, our group did a good job. ^^

With our Dee seonsaengnim. I think Shiela's got the closest replica of a hanbok lol. =))

Kimchiiiii~

I don't know who won as the best dressed among our models. One thing's for sure though, we all had fun making the hanbok using Japanese papers and somehow, we got to show the Arts-y sides of us. It was fun because we all took part in the process: from choosing which style of hanbok we will be making, to who will be our model, the cutting and pasting process was sure fun! And to be able to say, "Hey~ This is our work, we enjoyed it and we loved it!" It was definitely worth it. I think we all were winners already. :)

Bonus? Haha!
Because our representative needs a recognition! Nyahaha~ G$ represent! ♥

Because the semester will end this month, I will really miss this class. It was really fun and all. We even got the chance to meet with Korean people studying English here in Cebu and all, ahhh. My heart. *wipes invisible tears* Final exams for this semester will commence on Monday next week and as a culminating activity for our Korean Class, we will  be going out of the campus and try eating Korean food! Although Korean food isn't something new to me because I've eaten a few dishes, I still can't wait for Monday! Of course, I shall make a blog post of it. Please do look forward!

 Toodles!

Belated Happy Birthday Post

This is Jonathan. My 13 year old cousin who celebrated his birthday last March 9th.
He looks so squishy I wanna punch him in the face loljk.

L-R: Mom, Tita Agnes, Tam-Tam, Jonathan, Chin-Chin and Diding
The rest of the family were in the background, lol.
They chose to start/continue eating while they (above) go pose for a picture, XD!

May your wishes in life come true and that may you grow up a fine man! I love you. ♥

G$ Foodtrip: McDo sa Colon

I know this one doesn't deserve a blogpost, lol because this took place when we all were having a hard time  but life isn't always about the good time. Bad times make the good ones a lot more better. :) Wait, unsa? ano daw?

So yeah, on March 9th we went school for our trip to USC Museum for History Class. We went there to check the museum and I think I learned something from the museum trip. Although I was kind of on the verge of snapping already thanks to the OJT preparations and stuff. Long story and it needs to be buried down the grave really. Just a waste of time =)) Pictures were prohibited so...

But we were able to meet some of our highschool friends, me and Aizzel for the win! HAHAHA! I accidentally met up from Francis and guess what? We hugged and my classmates thought he was my boyfriend. Anyway, after the catching up with Francis, Aizzel called her friend, Jade, and met up with her at the museum as well. She was really cute and it was really nice of her to say hi to us even if she had classes! It was really so nice of her to do so. :)

After that we went to McDonald's to quench our thirst and satisfy our hunger for food. =)

Ikyang

The pranksters above, lol. We kind of made fun of Jene Rose and I guess the latter took it so seriously so she acted like a Drama Queen. Hahahahaah! If you read this, lol. I love you~ lol! Anyways, the "issue" wasn't really resolved yet or maybe it was, but one thing's for sure, we're all fine now. ^^

Jene Rose

 Obligatory aftermath pic.
Aizzel commented how I always took pictures as a remembrance, haha! I also noticed it when she started pointing it out when we started to dig in with our individual orders. Hmmmmm, maybe this is my own way of remembering stuffs. =)

JYJ In Heaven Album Spazz Post

The title says it all. Haha! So on February 25th, Cassiopeia Philippines organized the successful 9G: The Red Room.

Nice and yours truly have expressed our wanting to fly to High Street Bonifacio in Taguig, Manila to party party with the ozm CassPH fangirls and fanboys but due to time and money constraints, we had to put off the flight. Chos. Wala na talaga kaming pera. Bilang we spent moolah during the past DBDs for JaeHoMin by CassPH Cebu Chapter. YEY~ ahaha! If time and money permits, we really wish to fly to Manila by December in time for PKCI’s KPOPCON 2012. (^____^);;v

Anyways, where was I? Yeah the gathering. Because CassPH is made of win and all, having been hailed as the Best Fanclub in the Philippines, 9G was something fangirls and fanboys enjoyed themselves with. Highlights included an interactive DB5K Exhibition and Gallery where fans can browse limited edition, special edition, and very rare DBSK merchandise from albums, singles, concert DVDs to photobooks (HELLO BONJOUR PARIS HELLO), magazines (HIGH CUT, S-MAGs, ELLE, etc.) even official concert goodies from the boys’ past concerts owned by the CassPH core. Kayo na mayaman, ok. =))

9G also had a Private Film Showing of maybe clips of anything about DBSK (I wasn’t there, so…) and of course! The 2nd Ang Gintong Itlog ni Junsu (rough trans: Golden Egg of Junsu. LMAO) video editing/subbing contest! They also had Tohonight: The Afterparty where fans danced, grooved and made hip thrusts loljk to the music of DBSK~ party partying non-stop while sipping Dongbangized cocktail drinks! Here is a fan-account. And another one. For pictures, visit Cassiopeia Philippines' Facebook fanpage!

The ultimate ultimate highlight of 9G (for me) was JYJ’s In Heaven album launch with freebies! CHYEEAAAAAAH! Nice who already bought the album, bought again for the freebies. She was nice enough to let me borrow money for the pre-order (which I already paid when the album arrived!) Huzzah~

So on March 3rd Saturday, we met and got our albums for pick-up at LBC SM Cebu branch~~~~~ on our way to getting the album, I kept of squirming, wiggling, shrieking, and going all ASKAHDAFJFKHLSKGAGL;N JEWAJEYYYYYYY hahahaha, can’t contain myself from spazzing. :P Prepare for an onslaught of piccuz and phail face/s. Hahahahaha! Please take a minute or two for all the pics to load. I tell you there’s gonna be loads.

When we arrived at LBC SM Cebu branch, there were not so many people. We then asked the person in charged for our package. Upon entering the branch, I already eyed a black tube for posters (I assumed it was) and went KSNKADNAKDHNALKN internally. Must. Behave. Haha.

It took a lot of patience in here because there was some little (like really little) misunderstanding between us and personnel regarding the tracking numbers but good thing was I had reliable instincts lol. I was right afterall, the black tube was indeed ours. HELLO POSTERS! YIPPEY!

Mr. In charge was rummaging through the packages. I was like; our package is in a box, okay. But of course, I did not tell him that because it’s his job to look for it and it’s kind of awkward to actually say it. Trust me, we were being impatient. HAHAHAHA!

OUR PACKAGEEEEEE YEAHBAAAAAAAAAA!!!!!!! Wait. It isn’t in a box. Oh well. OUR ALBUMS+FREEBIES!!!!!!

Nice then signed some forms because there were 2 packages. One for the albums and the other for the posters in a tube~~~~~~

TADAAAAAAH~ obligatory pose with the album. =))

We had dinner after claiming the packages because we’re fuuu hungry. Fast-forward. We went to Jaejoong’s Shrine in SM Cebu because there were couches available for people to sit/lay/sleep at. Then taddah~
Ze packages~ woot.

Nice did the honor of opening the package. Le gasp. Hyperventilating. Internally. What.

Jaejoongie says Hi! Lolz

I on the other hand opened the tube and these posters greeted me~ I opened it already while we’re inside Samsung Customer Care Center since I had to charge my phone. Haha, thank you Samsung for being considerate of your consumers. =) Btw, the black colored tube is the package. The green one’s mine. Must secure the precious posters. It rained okay.

JYJ shirts inside the drawstring bags and the albums~ ^^

My share of the package: tshirt, drawstring bag, sticky notepad, and the posters.

I did the grand opening of the album. =))

In fairness to whoever shipped the albums, she/he sure knows how to wrap things up. No dent, no scratches, no etc. ^^ Thank you for securing our albums! ♥

~the~ In Heaven with really nice packaging I wonder how many
sheets of card-board they used in making this album lol.

The actual CD with its blurred quality. Samsung Corby II was about to die that time.
Good thing I was able to re-charge it for 20mins to be able to take these pics.

the CD holder / the underneath of the CD holder whatchamacallit. This is where the CD is held and
I love the starry effect I swear. Isn’t it supposed to be clouds since it’s “In Heaven” lol.
Just a random thought. Hahahaha!

The back of the album~ I had to touch it and feel it. How do you call
the opposite of embossed?  That’s the word for how the tracks were written/put.

Of course, fangirls as we are, we take random pictures.

This is me holding my I Love JYJ shirt by Jaejoong’s shrine.

Nice with my shirt ;D

Where in the world would you get to have a JYJ In Heaven album+photobook+poster (imported from CJES, Korea~) with freebies like the I Love JYJ Shirt, another JYJ poster, a JYJ sticker/post-it notebook and a JYJ drawstring bag for Php1,200.00? Only in the Philippines by CassPH! You know it’s more fun in the Philippines! Pinoy DBSK/JYJ fans!!! That's why, I think if you want JYJ in the Philippines or TVXQ in the Philippines, support them by buying their album releases here, make them number one in polls, hit charts and etc. It's the only way. And well, start saving your lunch allowance too. =))

Overall, I really think the album was worth it. I don’t have regrets in buying DBSK/JYJ stuff. Listened to it once and I liked I.D.S. In fact, I don’t really play/listened with my albums that much. I only listen to them once or twice then I’ll stack them together with my other albums in my safe box. Lolz. I bought this big Tupperware where I put all my albums (true story) except for The Beginning album because it’s so BIG and probably this one. Will have to buy another bigger Tupperware LMAOOO.

Next project/s:

I know I know. I have been a biased fangirl since The Beginning (trying to make a pun here lol) but hey, I bought TVXQ’s Keep your Head Down. Although I did not make a spazz post for it because… Idk. I may have been thinking of many things. 2011 was a roller-coaster ride and… I’m not gonna dwell on that here because this post is about spazzing not depressing stuff so~ haha! My lunch allowance will go to Tohoshinki’s TONE album/s. Talk about being a loyal consumer hahaha!

This was a fun post to make, I swear. Although it may be late but it's better late than never. Especially since I was spazzing my soulmate, Naiseu~ ♥ To future DBSK album pre-orders! HAHAHAHAHA!

Toodles~♥
